An art instillation for the streaming giant
Sticks
and stones
The project was to perfectly recreate the jumpsuit from “Dave Chapelle’s : Sticks and Stones” comedy special, released by Netflix.
The company was moving to a new building. Gensler, a global design and architecture firm, was designing the immense space. THey commissioned our studio to help create a tribute installation wall, dedicated to one of Netflix’s most successful projects.

1. Prototype
A prototype jumpsuit was made to figure out any issues before final materials were used, and for approval. This suit eventually went to the fabricator to use for the MDF inserts. Thanks to my husband for being our fit model.

2. Gathering materials and cutting the pattern.
We cut the patterns pieces, bundled, & tagged together to keep everything organized. Approximately 120 pieces cut and overlocked (phew!).

The new collar is connected to upper bodice of the jumpsuit. Testing name patch placement.

As you can see, 9 jumpsuits quickly take up a lot of space!

The design of the patch was approved, and the iconic symbol was finally added to complete the recreation (times nine, eep!)

8. Construction continues
Finalizing the hidden placket zipper front opening. Though never to be worn, everything still functions (Even the pockets).

The jumpsuits, as of today, are still on display at Netflix Head Quarters, Hollywood, the Comedy Floor.
